Vintage tea party card

I decided to try make a card for a challenge and so used a sketch from CAS colours and sketches #231 to inspire this card make. The oval on my card is a bit larger but other than that I was very true to the sketch layout.

I used a printout of Craftwork cards ‘Afternoon Tea’ as I now finally own a printer. I love how much more I can craft now with so many options to print as I subscribe to a few places that give free downloads (as one of there many perks).

For the background I heavily inked some pale washed paper from ‘soft colours paper pad that I got for £1 at the works. I loved the washed backgrounds and watercoloured flowers in this paper pad.

I then heavily inked the sides of the paper first with red ink then metalic red to soften the bright ruby red. I used this same doubling up of ink for the edges of my layered pieces.
