A dotty budget card made using recycled magazines and paper piercing technique

I love the cool blue background as it helps the colours of the dots to really stand out. The larger circle will eventually have a sentiment stamped onto it and be mounted with foam tape to help add a bit of dimension to the card.

I used a reel of ribbon to guide my paper piercing trying to keep the holes even as i went round the reel. I overlapped the circles to give a subtle texture to the pale nlue paper. Deciding that it needed more detail I used a penny to get some very small pierced circles again overlapping them.

To tie in the blue card used for the sentiment I drew around the penny to make more blue small circles and scattered them around the page.

I used a page from my old avon magazine that showed sample colours of nail varnishes, i carefully cut out each circle and spread them around the page interspersed with the blue circles.

When i decide what type of card to use this for i will stamp a sentiment in the large blue circle and mount it using double sided sticky foam. This card cost very little to make as the blue card was just some scrap card but it was time consuming to cut out so many circles.

Oh, a spotty arrangement is so pleasing! Good idea to make a base ahead of time and then add the sentiment as needed..
